Ingleside will also be serving some delicious recipes from our cookbook for you to try!

Dot Perry, Chairman of Ingleside's Cookbook committee explains how the idea for the cookbook, "Seasoned With Love" began -

It all began in Ingleside Women's Tuesday Morning Bible Study. Some of the women were talking recipes, when the conversation turned to the three cookbooks that were published during the last 115 years of Ingleside. Someone said to me, "Dot, don't you think it is about time we had another Ingleside cookbook?" That very day, I looked around the room and approached 5 women to see if they would serve with me on a Cookbook Committee.

Roles of the 6 members were established after a few meetings, and the work began in earnest after we gained approval by the Session and Discipleship Ministry. We had the Collectors (of recipes), the Formatters, the Typists, the Proofers and the Historians.

The real interest was sparked when we did our first promotion in March, 2016. Recipes that had been submitted for the cookbook were made for a Taster's Luncheon held during a Fellowship Ministry time slot on a Sunday after Church. Five judges, selected by the cookbook committee, judged the Blue Ribbon dishes and other food that was presented, and selected Award and Blue Ribbon recipe winners from each category. At the same time, people were submitting names for the cookbook, and the fellowship time was very good.

Seasoned with Love is a unique cookbook, not only because of the family recipes, but also for telling the Ingleside story. The rich heritage of Ingleside Presbyterian Church is shown alongside descriptions of our ministries. It was a true labor of love for the committee members.

One last promotion to push sales will be held at the BBQ and Blues event on October 15, where more recipes from Seasoned with Love will be the side dishes presented at the BBQ.

A thank you to the Seasoned with Love committee: Betsy Whitson, Cindy Bennet, Faith Wallace, Jackie Reid, Rosemary Miller and Dot Perry.
