Nash Rambler
The Nash Rambler is an eclectic musical group consisting of Jeff Griffin on guitar and vocals, Jesse Benton on whistle, vocals, recorders, guitar and piano and Harold Benton on fiddle. The band was born in Harold's den in 2002 when he and Jeff would get together to play Irish, folk, old time, and gospel music. Jesse joined the group after a couple years as a ten year old whistle and recorder player. He expanded his contributions to include vocals, guitar and piano. The group has played together for all sorts of occasions and at all sorts of venues usually just for the joy of the music and friendships. Audiences are often treated to special guests who perform with the Rambler. That will be true for the BBQ and Blues event. Performances are aimed at making sure that everyone has fun and enjoys themselves. As Proverbs 17:22 says "A joyful heart is good medicine."
One Achord
One Achord was founded in 2011 by women of the Ingleside choir who love making sweet music together to worship our Lord. Under the leadership of Kate St Clair, we sing close-harmony Christian music in three and four parts, mostly contemporary with some really fun gospel sounds mixed in. In addition to singing for Ingleside Sunday worship, Women's Leadership events, and Christmas concerts, we have done some local outreach such as bringing Christmas cheer to senior centers, leading worship at Eagle Ranch and as a special guest of Kenndy Smartt's bible study at Chestnut Mountain Presbyterian Church in Flowery Branch. We bravely presented one concert to Ingleside members, friends and family in 2013 and are thrilled to join the BBQ and Blues event.
Ingleside String Band
The String Band started more than two years ago and as a group of us began discussing different kinds of music we enjoy. Dennis Maddox had recently gotten a string bass, and John Hyatt is an excellent harmonica player. We were thinking of ways to use both the bass and harmonicas in worship, and the String Band was born. The group originally consisted of Dennis Maddox on String Bass and vocals, John Hyatt on harmonicas and vocals, Ben Chen on guitar and vocals, and Chris Willoughby on guitar, banjo, mandolin, and vocals. Dennis and his family moved to Kennesaw last year, but he will be back to perform with the String Band for the BBQ and Blues event. The String Band's musical styles include Bluegrass, Old-Time, and other traditional styles.
